This cozy guesthouse is ideally located on Laugavegur, the main street, making it convenient for exploring nearby attractions like Hallgrímskirkja Church, just a short stroll away. The cheerful reception staff made my arrival smooth, offering clear instructions and sincere hospitality-qualities I cherish as a landscape photographer often on the go. While accommodations are basic, the cleanliness and comfort of the shared spaces stood out, reflecting the modern yet homely atmosphere I'd hoped for. The availability of a well-equipped shared kitchen was a delightful bonus, perfect for whipping up a quick meal after a long day of capturing Iceland's breathtaking landscapes. Despite being centrally located, I felt safe and welcomed throughout my stay. For anyone seeking an affordable and friendly base in Reykjavik, I would wholeheartedly recommend 101 Guesthouse. There's simply no better way to soak in the local culture before setting off to explore the natural wonders that await just beyond the city.
